Collection 03 - what we kept, what we cut

Collection 03 review rack

Collection 03 shipped fourteen pieces. Nine stay in the permanent line, four are retired, and one comes back in May in a different cloth. Here is the reasoning, since we would rather explain the cuts than quietly let them disappear from the site.

Staying: the Greene blazer, the Halsey slip, the Ardmore trouser, both knits, the poplin shirt in all three colours and the wool skirt. These are the pieces that sell steadily rather than in a launch spike, which is the only sales pattern we trust.

Retired: the cropped jacket, the tie-waist dress, the linen short and the silk scarf. The jacket was a fit problem we never fully solved above a size 12. The dress photographed better than it wore. The short and the scarf simply did not earn their place in a fourteen-piece line.

Reissued in May: the Ardmore trouser in the Biella wool rather than the original cotton twill. Same pattern, better cloth, and about 20% more expensive to make. We will hold the price and take the margin hit for the first run.
