Our Story

Made in small batches in the Garment District.

Marlowe & Vale is the partnership between a fourth-generation tailor and a former Vogue stylist — built on the conviction that a wardrobe should be cut, not consumed.

Every piece is patterned, sampled, and finished within sixteen blocks of our SoHo atelier. We work with natural fibers, milled and woven by family-run houses in Italy, Portugal, and Japan, and we make to plan — rarely more than 240 units of any single style.

From the muse

Women who’ve lived in the pieces.

Marlowe & Vale has quietly become my entire wardrobe. The Greene blazer outlasted three other coats in my closet — and looks better the more I wear it.
The fit on the Lafayette jean is the closest I've come to denim that feels custom without paying for custom. Sienna spent forty minutes with me on the floor of the atelier.
I bought the Halsey slip for a wedding in 2022 and it has since been to Lisbon, Mexico City, and a dozen New York dinners. Still looks like the day it arrived.

Frequently Asked

The quiet details.

How do I find my size?
Each product page lists detailed measurements taken from the actual sample, not a generic size chart. If you're between sizes, our atelier team is happy to advise — email fit@marloweandvale.com with the piece you're considering and your usual sizes in two other brands.
What is your return policy?
Free returns within 30 days, no questions asked, on any unworn piece in original condition with tags attached. Sale and final-cut pieces are exchange or store credit only. We process returns within 3 business days of receipt.
How is your clothing made and where?
Every Marlowe & Vale piece is patterned, sampled, and finished in our atelier on Greene Street in SoHo, with sewing performed within sixteen blocks of the atelier in NYC's Garment District. Our fabrics come from family-run mills in Italy (wool, silk), Portugal (cotton), and Japan (selvedge denim).
What does "made in small batches" actually mean?
We produce no more than 240 units of any individual style per season — and most styles are made in runs of 80 to 160. We make to plan, not to fill warehouses, which is why pieces sell out and rarely restock. When they do return, it's the following season with refinements.
Do you offer alterations or made-to-measure?
Yes — every purchase includes complimentary in-house alterations performed in our SoHo atelier. We also offer made-to-measure on our blazers, trousers, and select dresses; appointments take about 90 minutes and the piece is delivered in 4 to 6 weeks.
What is your approach to sustainability?
Honest: we make less, of better, in fewer places, more slowly. Our fabrics are natural-fiber (no synthetics or blends), our patterns are zero-waste-optimized, our offcuts go to a partnered Brooklyn quilting collective, and our packaging is 100% recycled paper. We don't run sales, ever.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes — we ship to 38 countries via DHL Express. International orders typically arrive in 3 to 6 business days. Duties and taxes are calculated at checkout for transparency, with no surprise fees on delivery.
